Creative Living for Every Body
Gaelynn Lea
Gaelynn will share a bit of her backstory: growing up with a disability, learning to adapt her instrument, committing herself to a creative career, and navigating a host of accessibility issues on the road as a disabled touring musician.
She will explore a few insights that her disability has given her over the years, and share how they have helped her to pursue a more enriching life. She will introduce the concept of Disability Culture and demonstrate how its tenets of creativity, resilience, adaptability, mutual care, and inner freedom are actually helpful to everyone, whether or not someone identifies as disabled.
Gaelynn will end her keynote with a reminder that accessibility is really about caring for your neighbors and making your corner of the world a little more welcoming and enriching for everyone. Gaelynn is looking forward to a brief Q&A with the audience as well.
