Classical Music for a Modern Audience

Superior String Alliance
Adam Hall Revolve Headshot
Superior String Alliance teaches the U.P.’s next generation of string players, connects musicians from all over the U.P. and beyond, and grows young musicians’ artistry by fostering a community built on curiosity and kindness.

Adam Hall, a Marquette-based cellist and teacher, will perform selections for solo cello and then discuss the history and practice of classical music in a modern context, specifically as it relates to the work of SSA in Marquette and the Upper Peninsula. How do we educate artists, and get more of the community involved in classical music as a tradition and art? How do we successfully make performances accessible to a modern audience?
